Privacy Policy — My Travel Mate

Effective date: 22 July 2026

My Travel Mate ("the app") is a personal trip-itinerary companion app. This policy explains what data the app handles and how.

Summary

My Travel Mate does not collect, transmit, or sell any personal data to the developer or to any third party. There is no user account, no analytics, no advertising, and no crash-reporting service. Everything you enter into the app — trip itinerary, dates, and journal entries — stays on your device, with an optional backup to your own iCloud account.

Data the app stores

All of the above is stored locally on your device. If you enable backup, it is written to your own iCloud Documents storage under your own Apple ID — the developer has no access to this data.

Location and weather

My Travel Mate does not request or use your device's GPS/location. The "Here Now" weather shown for your current destination is generated from the destination's city coordinates, which are looked up once (via OpenStreetMap/Nominatim) when you add or save that destination to your itinerary. Those coordinates are then used to fetch current weather from the Open-Meteo weather service. No live device location is read or shared at any point.

Third-party services

The app calls the following external services solely to provide core functionality — no personal data or itinerary content is sent to them beyond the destination coordinates needed to return weather:

Neither service receives your name, journal content, PIN, or any identifying information — only destination coordinates.

Analytics, advertising, and crash reporting

None. The app does not integrate Firebase, Sentry, AdMob, or any other analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting SDK. No usage data is collected or transmitted anywhere.

Data sharing

The developer does not collect, receive, sell, or share any of your data. There is nothing to share, because nothing leaves your device except the destination-coordinate lookups described above.

Data deletion

Since all data is stored locally (and optionally in your own iCloud account), you can delete it at any time by deleting the app, or by using the app's built-in reset/restore features. There is no developer-held copy to request deletion of.

Children's privacy

My Travel Mate does not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children, because it does not collect personal data at all.
